A Classic Alberta Relay
Celebrating 40 years, the K100 Relay is one of Alberta’s most iconic team running events. This 100-mile relay begins in Longview and winds its way into the heart of Kananaskis Country.
Teams of runners take on 10 legs across varied terrain—from rolling foothills to alpine passes—before finishing in Kananaskis Village.
The Route
The race begins at 6:00 a.m. in Longview, with runners heading west along Highway 541 toward the Rocky Mountains.
The course climbs over Highwood Pass—the highest paved highway in Canada—before descending into the Kananaskis Valley. Final legs take runners off pavement and across scenic terrain to the finish line in Kananaskis Village.

Important Race Info
Limited Spots
The race is limited to 60 teams and sells out quickly. Registration is first come, first served, with tiered pricing.
Team Registration
Only the team captain is required to register initially. Full team rosters can be submitted later in the spring.
Timing & Cutoffs
Teams must complete the course within a daylight window. Forced starts may be implemented to ensure all teams finish safely.
Bear Safety
Bear spray is required from leg 3 onward. Teams can share canisters between runners, though additional spray may be needed depending on your start times.

The K100 Relay takes place in Kananaskis Country, just over an hour from Calgary. From foothills to alpine passes, this route showcases some of Alberta’s most scenic landscapes.
