Calgary International Airport is the fourth largest in Canada, with direct flights from just about anywhere domestically, most of the major US cities and numerous international population centres.
The airport is located about 1 hour 15 minutes east of Kananaskis Village by car.

By Car

Access from west or east is from the Trans-Canada Highway, turning off at the Highway 40 (Kananaskis Trail) junction, with Kananaskis Village being a 20 minute, scenic drive from the turnoff.

The Highway 40 turnoff is approximately 85km from Calgary airport and 62km from Banff. Access is also possible from the south via Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail) and Highway 541, with Kananaskis Village a 1 hour 30 minute drive through some of the most incredible scenery in Canada.

Annually closed between Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and Hwy 541 from December 1 – June 14.

By Bus

FlixBus now offers direct service from Calgary to Kananaskis and back, running twice daily every Friday–Monday. The route serves Calgary International Airport, Downtown Calgary, Crowfoot, Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino/Event Centre, Kananaskis Village, and Nakiska Ski Area, and connects seamlessly with the free Explore Kananaskis Shuttle for easy access to top destinations within the region.
