KPOW Cat Skiing at Fortress Mountain

Experience some of Kananaskis’ best backcountry skiing and snowboarding with KPOW Cat Skiing at Fortress Mountain. Ride by snowcat to access powder-filled terrain, with experienced ski leaders guiding you to the best snow and conditions across the mountain.

KPOW groups are limited to 14 guests per cat, making for a more personal backcountry experience.

The KPOW Experience

A typical day includes 10–12 runs across a variety of terrain, with your ski leader selecting routes based on the group’s abilities and the day’s snow conditions. A hot lunch, snacks and beverages are included, and each guest receives an avalanche transceiver and participates in a daily safety briefing.

KPOW operates Wednesday–Saturday, depending on the time of season.

Is KPOW Right for You?

KPOW is designed for strong intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders who are comfortable skiing or riding a variety of terrain and conditions, including deep powder and wind crust.

Guests should be confident in ungroomed, challenging mountain terrain.
